“My husband and I just returned from our two week safari + Zanzibar honeymoon in Tanzania, all thoughtfully booked and managed by Hornbill Treks & Safaris. Once we got to Tanzania, I was blown away not only by the hospitality that greeted us both from our Hornbill guide, but also that we encountered at every stop along the way. Each lodge and hotel that was recommended to us was not only locally owned (important in supporting local businesses + the local economy), but the teams at each were all fun, personable and incredible hospitality professionals. The offerings, even when staying at a tent lodge in the bush, were unparalleled, providing great comfort and delicious + abundant food and wine.

We saw everything we hoped for (and more!) on safari, from the Wildebeest migration to tree climbing lions, but also had the pleasure of hot meals and a kind + unbelievably knowledgeable host to guide us around the beauty of the countless national parks we got to explore. We kept saying that we felt like we had the best guide out of all of the other safari vehicles we were passing–we seemed to always be in the right place at the right time! Following our departure from safari, we arrived in Zanzibar to relax on the beach at what has now become my *favorite* hotel I’ve ever stayed in anywhere, Qambani. Once again, the Hornbill team pointed us in the direction that provided a stay that was not only comfortably luxurious, relaxing and well-designed, but also felt personal and away from the masses. Throughout our entire trip, there were sweet moments that greeted us to really put the cherry on top–from welcome gifts to meetings with locals to honeymoon surprises. I’ve already referred a few friends to Hornbill, and will definitely be reaching out to them in the future when I’m ready to do a gorilla trekking trip in Uganda.
